Happiness: My Guest Post on A Beautiful Ripple Effect
6I am honored to be featured on Carolyn Rubenstein’s blog, A Beautiful Ripple Effect, in her series on “10 Things That Make Me Happy.” You can read about the 10 Things on my list here.
Carolyn writes on inspiring topics like joy, and finding ways to feel good about yourself, and shifting perspectives, and pursuing your passions. Her blog title is inspired by the idea that each of us can start a small ripple of inspiration that grows and spreads to others.
Best,
Linda

February 01, 2010A friend of mine sent me this list of 10 things that make him happy. He said I could go ahead and share them anonymously, and I thought they were so awesome, that’s what I’m going to do:
1. seeing my boy and girl, wide-eyed, learning something, new, like that maybe there is sea life on Jupiter’s Europa
2. watching the redsox with a lead, with a big bowl of nachos and salsa
3. a bonfire outside my friends house in NH at 11pm, in the depths of winter
4. friday at 3pm, on memorial day weekend
5. finishing a 3-mile walk in the winter, knowing that there is hot soup on the other side of that front door
6. leaving my annual physical with only the lofty weight on my shoulders of a $10 copay
7. never walking by a girl scout’s cookie stand without buying at least two boxes
8. closing my eyes on a warm day at the beach and mentally projecting myself at work, then opening my eyes really quickly
9. thanksgiving morning, with the whole day and night ahead
10. my wife when she sees me immersed in the above 9

February 02, 2010Hi Linda,
I enjoyed your post on Ripple Effect. I’m SO happy every time I find people generating and spreading happiness! Making happy lists is such a fun thing to do and reading other peoples’ lists only help us fill, or realize how full, our own glass is of blessings! I’m meandering down a path of my own to share good stuff …www.goodoodles.com, a blog to spread good news, ideas and feelings. I hope it brings smiles, just as your post did for me! Its like an antidote to the daily newspaper, where nothing is ever happy. And that is just NOT true! You are! Cheers and happy Tuesday, April
